In February I got asked to shoot a campaign for Sparkasse alongside a film production by Black Pearl Film. We were shooting at three locations in Germany over a time period of 10 days. The film team was shooting short films about the bosses of three different medium-sized businesses and how the Sparkasse helped them to fund their companies.
My goal was to shoot the same stories they were capturing, but as still images. Here are some of my personal favourites from this production.

The first location was a car service station in Rendsburg.
From Rendsburg we went to our second location - TechniSat in Dippach. They are building navigation systems for all major car companies.
Our last location was a company that extracts gravel out of the river Weser. This gravel is called “Weserkies” and is used for road construction and structual engineering.
It was great being a part of this production! The short films can be seen here…
Two weeks ago I got to photograph my friend Udo Leichauer in my home studio. He is a creative director at Leo Burnett Frankfurt and a really great guy. I wanted to try out some different lighting techniques and create a very moody and dark look. I also wanted to test out my new camera - a Canon 5DsR with 50 megapixels. I was really blown away by the quality which comes really close to medium format in my opinion. I have worked with Phase One cameras quite a bit and it’s hard to see the difference to be honest.
Here are my three favourites from my portrait session with Udo.
I was hired by the commercial real estate company blackolive to shoot several images for the launch of their new website. I got to shoot an architectual image over the rooftops of Frankfurt, a double portrait of the two bosses in front of the skyline and business portraits of the employees. I really enjoyed working on this project. Big thanks to my wonderful team!

Back in October I had the pleasure of visiting South Africa for the first time. There is a lot of beauty to be seen and the light is really special. Amazing landscapes and wonderful people… I used an analogue Hasselblad 501cm with an 80mm lens to capture the following images.
The great people of the Imibala Trust ( a local help foundation for children in need ) took me to two different schools where I was able to take portraits of the kids. The next four images where taken in these schools.
Back in May I shot part of a campaign for DPD in Frankfurt. The guys from Filmhafen were shooting a commercial and got me on board to shoot the stills for this project.
Here are some of my favourites from this production…
